What a brilliant day was had by all the pupils, staff and others in attendance as 4 members of the victorious Limerick Senior Hurling team visited the school with the McCarthy Cup in tow! Three former pupils- Cian Lynch, Diarmaid Byrnes and Aaron Gillane were joined by our fifth class teacher Mr. Quaid to show off the most famous trophy in hurling to the awe-struck children. We want to thank the four players for giving up of their time and for being so accommodating and standing in for numerous photos and signing endless jerseys, flags and hurleys! Also thank you to Noel Hartigan for bringing the trophy to the school.
We had some great words from our four All Ireland heroes as well as by Mr O Connor and Mr Crowe who both told us about the talents of our three former pupils when they were members of Patrickswell N.S. teams not so long ago. Thank you to all the members of the community that turned up to welcome the Cup and players. It really was a most memorable day!
